The vivo Y29 was announced in the final days of 2024, featuring a 5G chipset and a 5,500 mAh battery. The phone now has a second version with an LTE-only chip and a larger cell that is already on sale in Bangladesh.

The vivo Y29 4G retains the 6.68″ LCD with 720p resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. It has a Schott protective glass on top, which the company claims increases drop resistance by 64% compared to the previous generation cover glass.

Because Bangladesh has yet to adopt 5G networks, the SoC used is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 685. It makes no sense to bring a next-generation connectivity smartphone that cannot be used to its full potential. Memory-wise, the vivo Y29 4G comes in three configurations: 6/128 GB, 8/128 GB, and 8/256 GB.

A large camera island on the back houses a 50 MP main shooter, a 2 MP auxiliary snapper for bokeh effects, a dynamic color light, an LED flash, and an infrared blaster in the top right corner.The selfie camera is located inside a punch hole and has an 8 MP sensor.

The vivo Y29 4G is heavily marketed for its durability. It features advanced cushioning protection as well as MIL-STD-810H military-grade drop resistance certification.

It is also IP64-certified for water and dust resistance, and vivo claims it will provide a smooth experience for up to 50 months (which could indicate the length of its software support).

The vivo Y29 4G runs Android 15 and Funtouch OS 15, and it includes some AI photo editing features as well as a stronger wireless signal. It also includes Circle to Search, a feature that was previously only available on premium devices.The battery has 6,500 mAh capacity and 44W wired charging support.

The phone comes in two colors: noble brown and elegant white. The starting price in Bangladesh is BDT 19,999 (approximately $165). Users can pre-order the phone for BDT 1,000, with the remainder due on the market launch date of February 24.
